The viewer is instructed to sit on a furry pillow in front of the piece and to squeeze the extended paw. A fortune then issues from the slot that can be taken away by the viewer. Examples: "You will be blessed with many creature comforts. ", "You can be very charming when you want something.", "Trust your animal instincts.", "Don't put your faith in false prophets.", etc. The fortunes are randomly generated by a computer. People still believe.
